Another person we are helping to get baptized is named Antonio, and he is from Sardegna ( the island to the left of Italy) He visited there for a couple weeks and while he was there we told him how much we loved pecorino cheese from sardegna. So he brought us back half a wheel of cheese! Wow it was amazing. He is a really spiritual guy, him and his wife have only a couple things they have to work out before they can be baptized. We hope that happens soon. Here is the picture of us holding the giant half wheel of cheese.
I had a very spiritual week this week. My favorite part of the week was the scambio I had with Anziano Moore. The whole day we only had 1 appointment because 2 others fell through, but in our finding work we saw miracless. We talked with many people and the first person we stumbled upon that was interested was an evangelist who had a relative that is in our church. He talked with us for about 20 minutes and we explained the restoration to him, and how the Book of Mormon was the word of God. He told us he was convinced of his evangelist beliefs but we left him with a prayer and good feelings were shared.
After lunch we then contacted another person who was evangelist, but this person had been baptized as a member of our church in Peru many years ago. We found out she left the church because she didnt like certain things about the church, but at the base of it was that she never had gotten a testimony of the Book of Mormon. She was also convinced, and we were kind of sad about that, but we bore our testimonies about the Book of Mormon and had a long spiritual conversation with her.
After our appointment at the end of the day, we had 20 minutes to find someone before we went home, so we went to work. We didnt have any noticeable success with the people we talked to, so we were about to go on the tram when we talked to one very last person who looked about our age. He was also evangelist, and God had prepared us with our other evanglist experiences that day to talk to him. Normally evangelists are pretty convinced that the Bible is the only word of God, but because of our practice earlier in the day we were able to share the Book of Mormon with him in a way that helped him recognize the spiritual worth of that book.
I also shared a very personal spiritual experience with him about my testimony of the Book of Mormon. His parents were waiting for him and called him multiple times but he was so interested that he rejected their phone calls on his phone. We left him at a spiritual high and told him we needed to go, and got his number. We could tell that he was thinking about the truths we had taught him and really wanted to talk to us longer. It was truly a miracle to see how the Lord prepared us that day to talk with him, it just testifies to me that as we do what we the Lord requires us to do, we will be prepared to find His elect and help them recognize us as the Lord's servants.
