Spiffy Italian shoes and Bora

Here is a picture of our district! Just four people. 

We have been having a fun time this week going to all the members and helping them. Also, one of our investigators, Maria, and a guy in the ward had a mostra this week (display of paintings) We taught her at the mostra. She painted a lot of cool stuff like celtic dragons and asian culture. She is half Japanese, half Italian with a very long and great life story. Now she has ended up back here in Italy. The other member painted a lot of photorealistic paintings that were pretty funny.  One picture is of three old ladies sitting on a bench (the elderly here in Italy like to people watch a lot)

In fact there is one guy that every morning during studies we see him looking out his window down at the street for 2 or 3 hours. Every single day. Its a little ridiculous.

And then all of our newly acquired shoes- recent sale in Italy  (I was the only one with black shoes haha) 

Im thankful in our ward because our ward has caught the wave! The missionary bug. We are starting to now visit tons of members throughout the week and helping them learn how to do missionary work. Its so much more effective than us tracting or talking to people on the streets. I feel like people dont realize how prepared their friends are sometimes! For example, (this has happened 3 or 4 times in the past while) sometimes we start talking to someone and they say they are athiest. But as we talk to them and they open up it turns out that they believe in God deep down. I feel like this is the same way with our friends. Many of them are prepared to recieve this gospel. I have a strong testimony that this gospel helps people regardless of their situation, and that it truly is a door to recieve all the blessings God wants to give us, especially the best one to return with him one day. More important than all the other blessings, this is the one he wants to give us.

 

Also, the weather has taken a turn for the cooler thank goodness! The Bora (see below) came through last night and this morning and was rattering and shaking up our windows, its really strong! But now its just perfect outside. I pray for you all every night, I love being a missionary, e spero che tutto andrà bene con la scuola!

Note from Mom: The Bora is a very powerful wind that is felt in Trieste.  This is what wikki has to say:
Towns on the coast, where the bora frequently occurs, are built densely with narrow streets in part because of the wind. Buildings in several towns and villages in Slovenia and the Province of Trieste (Italy) have stones on their roofs to prevent the tiles from being blown off. Chains and ropes are occasionally stretched along the sidewalks in downtown Trieste, Italy, to facilitate pedestrian traffic — gusts in the city are usually above 120 km/h reaching to maxima of near 200 km/h. A strong bora will often be reported on Italian television news.
